I am making Dan’s Seeley available. He is out of Dan’s Quinn and Cy-Dan’s Eliza. He has never been shown because there were 5 bucks in his litter and it was difficult taking them all out. Seeley would make an excellent youth show quality Holland or an open breeder’s breeding program. However, after this buck grows into his full potential, he may find himself competitive on an open table.

Holland Buck For Sale – Sold

For sale is a very young Holland Lop Solid Senior Buck. He was shown a couple times this past fall as a junior and did very well. At the Medina County RBA Show in Ohio this past November, he finished 1st out of 25 (SJB) and then went on to win Best Opposite Variety (BOSV).

Dan’s Finley is littermate to 4 other show quality bucks, 2 of which will remain in my barn for showing as seniors. Finley is sired from Dan’s Quinn, a very accomplished SSB!

Finley has very good shoulders, short midsection and a good hindquarter. The topline and depth over the HQ are excellent. He carries medium to heavy bone, the ear and crown package is awesome! As a very young senior, this buck will need to wait a while before hitting the tables again. However, he’s ready for breeding! IMO, he needs to go through a head molt to allow his head width to broaden.

Winter Juniors

I’m pretty excited about the nice juniors I have coming up. Some are close to the 6 month cut off and others are just getting started. In January, a couple juniors will get their debut while others will show for their last time as juniors.

I’ve been extremely blessed this year with a number of successful breedings from some of my top boys and a new-comer, Cowan’s Jake. Corley has a little boy that reminds me so much of him at this age. He’ll see the show table for the first time in March. Quinn and Jake have matched up really well with a few of my brood does. More blue torts! White River’s Segal was recently sold, but I am thrilled with a couple of juniors that came from the breeding to Teagan. He has a cute SJB and a very promising BJD.

See everyone at the shows in 2010! First show for us will be January 3, 2010 in Rochester, NY.

Winter Reduction – Sold Out

Well, it’s never an easy decision to sell Hollands. Which ones can go and which ones should stay is always difficult to determine. However, the reality is starting to set in that some have to move out to make room for younger ones leaving their litters.

I have a solid junior buck and a broken senior buck that will become available to the right person. The solid junior buck is out of Dan’s Quinn and Cy-Dan’s Eliza. He is about 5 months old and have some terrific qualities. There were a total of 5 bucks in the litter; 2 have already been sold (1 is living in Ohio and the other is living in Canada). The one that went to Ohio was shown 4 times with me and earned a Best of Breed. The other one has not been shown yet. There are 2 more bucks from that litter that will remain with me for the time being as they are developing into very promising show bucks.

The junior buck is very nice. My chief criticism with him is that I would love to see a bit more bone substance one him. He’s very upright and likes to pose. He’s also has a slight touch of ear control which I don’t see being an issue as his head matures.

The broken senior buck is WR’s Segal. I really like this buck’s head package. He is a young senior and is beginning to fill out nicely. I purchased him in the Holland Lop Nationals Auction back in April. It was reported to me by Roman that he placed very well in the broken junior buck class, 3rd place. He also has 1 GC Leg with a BOSV as a junior. He has not been shown as a senior.

Finally some orange kits!

One of the last things I did when I sent Stew’s Comanche back to Shannon Stewart in October was to breed him to one of my does. I hoped to get another chestnut that would carry the mass in the head that made Comanche so well-known. In fact, the breeding produced a chestnut buck AND 3 orange kits! It’s too early to determine whether or not these little ones will be show worthy or not, but it’s just so cool to see the color in the litter.

I’ll post more on this litter as they mature.

Multiple BOB Winner

Dan’s Nadia

As most folks know, Nadia has been one of my most accomplished show does this year. After the National Competition in April, I bred her and as a result, she suffered severe complications. I almost lost her. She has regained her health and has gone on to win 2 additional Best of Breeds and 2 additional Best Opposite of Breeds out of 6 showings. She is in prime condition at the moment, showing no signs of a lingering complications from her past breeding attempt.

This week, she has been exhibiting signs of breeding readiness. So, I took her to one of my smallest blue tort bucks, Cowan’s Jake. She was bred and has a due date of December 29, 2009. At this point, I will keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.
